How to export subtitles or an MP4 with subtitles

Downloading subtitles and exporting a video solve different problems. SRT/VTT keep text and timestamps in a separate file; an MP4 export burns selected subtitles into the video picture. First generate or translate the content you need, then choose the output and check its coverage. Neither export action fills gaps automatically.

Choose the output for what you want to do

• Read, edit or load timed text in a compatible player: choose SRT or VTT. A separate file does not contain video, and its appearance is controlled by the receiving player.
• Share a playable file that visibly contains captions: use the supported MP4 video export. The burned-in text cannot be switched off like a separate track.
• Continue watching on the original page: use the subtitle display. An on-screen overlay alone does not save a subtitle file or change the original media.

Original, translated and bilingual are content choices for both export routes. Bilingual output uses source text and translation when both are available.

Generate content and check what is complete

1. Open a local file in Local Player, or keep the supported original YouTube/X page open with the extension.
2. Choose an embedded/native text track or audio recognition and select your target language. A local embedded track uses its metadata language; for audio recognition, use automatic detection or select the original language. Click Start translation.
3. Review a spoken section. For full-video output, use the supported full-video preparation control and check the reported completion/remaining windows.
4. Before exporting, inspect coverage and any missing or failed sections. An empty completed speech window and a never-processed window are different.

A partial subtitle export contains available generated cues. A partial MP4 export can contain the whole video but show text only in generated sections. Downloading, burning or publicly sharing does not generate the rest.

Download a subtitle file

1. Choose subtitle export, then select SRT or VTT and original, translated or bilingual content.
2. Review the coverage, quoted credits and daily limit information. Confirm a paid quote when required.
3. Download the file and open it in a text editor or a compatible subtitle player. Check the expected language and timestamps before using it elsewhere.

Generated subtitles are reusable for watching, but subtitle export has account-specific payment rules: content already paid for by this account is treated differently from content generated or paid for by another account. The displayed quote is the authority for this download.

A reproducible local input and illustrative subtitle files

This eight-second MP4 contains two self-authored English sentences spoken by a synthetic voice, with no user or platform footage. Download it and choose it in Local Player. Selecting a target language and clicking Start translation submits real processing and requires a signed-in account with available credits.

The accompanying SRT/VTT use two authored cues, Chinese translations and timestamps rendered by the product’s existing subtitle serializer. They illustrate file formats; they are not measured recognition results from this audio or an accuracy or speed benchmark. Actual processing may produce different words, timing and coverage.

Export an MP4 with burned-in text

1. Use a supported local file or the selected actual YouTube/X source in current desktop Chrome/Edge. Video export is a beta and requires browser encoding/storage capabilities.
2. Choose original, translation or bilingual mode and the desired subtitle style before starting the export.
3. Open video export. For an extension video, keep the original page open while using the dedicated export page.
4. Check source quality, output dimensions, estimated size, subtitle coverage and fees; confirm and keep the necessary pages open until download finishes.

The default subtitle composition targets at least 1080 pixels of output height. Upscaling does not add detail to a lower-resolution source. Actual source formats, memory/storage, browser codecs or platform access may prevent an export; follow the displayed error rather than assuming every playable video can be exported.

Style changes or cancellation can stop an in-progress local conversion. After changing content language or source, recheck the relevant subtitles and quote before exporting again.

Before you send the result

• Play a spoken section of the downloaded MP4, or load the SRT/VTT alongside the correct video.
• Check that text is visible, languages are correct, and timing is usable. Recognition and translation are not guaranteed accurate.
• Check sections you did not watch: do not infer full coverage from the first visible caption.
• Use only media you are entitled to process and distribute. An export does not grant rights to the original video.
