How to translate Bilibili videos to English subtitles
A Bilibili translator extension helps you watch ordinary Bilibili videos with English subtitles or another target language. WatchTranslate translates native captions or recognizes audio in watching windows. Use desktop Chrome / Edge; live streams, anime series, courses and special players are outside this scope.
Start translation
- Install the extension, sign in to WatchTranslate and open an ordinary Bilibili video. Also sign in to Bilibili itself to read its subtitle tracks.
- Choose the target language for the current video. Leave source language on automatic or set it manually.
- Choose the subtitle source, explicitly start translation and play the video.
- Select original, translated or bilingual display and adjust captions as needed.
Choose a subtitle source
The default source prefers a usable native track and uses the same video’s audio when the track is confirmed unavailable. If source availability is still unknown, wait or follow the retry message; it does not assume there are no captions. Translating existing text is faster and uses fewer credits.
If you explicitly choose the video’s subtitles and they cannot be read, the extension reports an unavailable track. Select audio and start again. A read failure does not prove there are no subtitles.
Scope and fees
Track translation costs 0.2 credits per minute; audio recognition costs 1 credit per minute. Completed subtitles for the same video, source and languages are reused. No-speech recognition is charged; failures are not.
Bilibili currently translates in watching windows. It does not offer full-video preparation, subtitle-sharing links or burned MP4 export. On mobile use the local player for files already on your device.

What happens when I switch to another part?
Another part is another video. Check its source and languages and start again; do not treat the previous part’s progress as its own.
